Furdess Helm – 14 Gauge Viking Spangenhelm

The Furdess helm is a riveted steel spangenhelm with an elongated faceplate and hinged side plates for extra protection of the head and face. Deepeeka bases it on a 10th-century Norwegian Viking Age helmet of four-plate spangenhelm construction, a regional variant of a style common across much of early medieval Europe.

It is lined with leather throughout, including the faceplate and side plates, and has an adjustable internal leather suspension liner with thick foam padding bands behind the leather at the base of the dome. A leather chin cord ties to brass rings on the side plates. The helmet stand shown in photos is not included.
