This sword is based on a 13th century Type XIV find, its name drawn from the Norwegian phrase for 'old iron.' Type XIV swords are characterised by a broad, flat blade tapering to a sharp point, a profile that balanced cutting power with a genuine thrusting capability increasingly valued as the High Medieval period progressed.
Deepeeka's reproduction is heat treated to a Rockwell hardness of 48-52 and built with a full tang, part of our Medieval heritage range.
