Hedemark Norwegian Sword, Late 9th Century

This sword is modelled on a late 9th-century original held at the Museum of Cultural History in Oslo, catalogued as C9981, so you can look up the very piece it is based on. Deepeeka's replica recreates the original's two-piece pommel, a typical feature of Norwegian swords of the period.

The EN45 high-carbon steel blade is left unsharpened and rated Light Combat, so it suits reenactment and costume use as well as display. A strong centrepiece for a Norwegian or Viking Age collection.
