Hersir Viking Sword

In Viking Age Scandinavia the hersir was a wealthy landowner of high standing who also served as a local military leader. This sword recreates the kind of blade such a man would have carried, with status shown through the quality of its construction rather than heavy decoration.

It has a strong, balanced blade and a peened tang, and makes a good centerpiece for a collection of Viking Age arms.
