A late Viking piece based on a historical original dated to the beginning of the 12th century, marking the very twilight of the Viking Age.
This sword recreates a late Viking piece based on a historical original dated to the beginning of the 12th century - a moment when the Viking Age proper was giving way to the early Medieval world, and Scandinavian sword design was already absorbing continental European influence. The defining feature of Type L swords is the curvature of the guards. Both the upper and lower guards sweep in long arcs.

This version reflects Deepeeka's ongoing programme of design refinement across our Viking heritage range, with improved handling and an upgraded scabbard fit.

A note about blade thickness: The base of the blade is about 4.7 mm thick, the thinnest point at the termination of the fuller is about 3.1 mm thick and the raised mid ridge at the tip makes it about 3.8 mm thick at that midsection. (Measurements are approximate)
