This sword recreates a late Viking Age transitional pattern from the 10th to 11th century, distinguished by a long, rounded iron pommel built to counterweight its long and wide blade - a design choice that reflects the era's shift toward heavier, more substantial blade profiles as the Viking Age gave way to the early Medieval period.

This is Deepeeka's earlier model of this late Viking Age pattern, since superseded by an updated version (AH7053) featuring a refined brazil-nut pommel and improved distal taper.
