The Normans began as Viking settlers in northern France in the early 10th century, and within a few generations their descendants had conquered England in 1066. Their swords show that shared ancestry: a long, gently tapering blade descended from Norse patterns, paired with the plain cross and pommel of the early medieval arming sword.

That makes this piece equally at home in a late Viking or an early Norman kit. The tempered C60 high-carbon steel blade is left unsharpened, and the threaded pommel lets the hilt be taken apart and re-tightened.
