Full description
This sword reproduces a high-status Viking Age original discovered in Skåne, Sweden, dated to the 10th–11th century and sometimes called the “Eric the Viking sword”.
It is notable for its richly detailed hilt and strong Anglo-Saxon stylistic influence, evidence of the close artistic and trading contact between Viking Scandinavia and Anglo-Saxon England. The hilt is ornamented throughout with knotwork and animal motifs, including snakes, birds and fantastical beasts, reflecting craftsmanship reserved for a Norse chieftain or champion.
Part of Deepeeka's premium Primus range, it faithfully recreates the intricate knotwork of the original. The grip has a wooden core tightly bound in braided wire or leather, depending on the variant. The sword comes with a wooden scabbard covered in stitched leather, with detailed fittings and a suspension loop for belt carry.
A premium collector's piece and striking display item for anyone drawn to Viking Age metalwork.
