This sword is inspired by the iconic Migration Era weapon discovered at Sutton Hoo in England, one of the most important archaeological finds associated with early Anglo-Saxon nobility. Dating to the late 6th to early 7th century, the original sword is believed to have belonged to a high-status individual, possibly King Rædwald of East Anglia. A historically grounded reproduction of the famed Sutton Hoo sword, representing elite Anglo-Saxon craftsmanship from the Migration Era.
The Sutton Hoo sword represents the height of early Medieval craftsmanship, where swords were not only tools of war but also symbols of power, authority, and prestige. The original blade was pattern-welded - a sophisticated forging technique combining multiple iron and steel elements to produce both strength and a distinctive surface pattern - recovered from the famous ship burial at Sutton Hoo, one of the most significant Anglo-Saxon archaeological finds ever made in England.
Part of our premium Primus range, this reproduction captures the essential form and presence of the original, with decorative elements reflecting the intricate, symbolically rich style of early Anglo-Saxon metalwork.
A striking centrepiece for collectors of Migration Era and early Anglo-Saxon history.
