Primus Vendel Chieftain’s Sword (Grave 32, Sweden, 6th–7th Century)

This sword is inspired by finds from Vendel-era burial sites near Uppsala, Sweden, dating to the 6th–7th century, the transition between the Migration Era and the Viking Age.

These richly furnished graves belonged to elite warriors and chieftains, whose swords reflected status and exceptional craftsmanship. Vendel swords are known for highly ornate hilts, often with multi-part assemblies, riveted pommels and decorative inlays in the tradition of Germanic and early Scandinavian metalwork.

Part of Deepeeka's premium Primus range, the reproduction has a subdued silver-like finish, reflecting the historical use of white-metal finishes to imitate more precious materials. A statement piece for collectors of the Migration Era and early Viking Age.
