Inspired by finds from Vendel-era burial sites near Uppsala, Sweden - a transitional period between the Migration Era and the Viking Age.
This sword is inspired by finds from Vendel-era burial sites near Uppsala, Sweden, dating to the 6th-7th century - a transitional period between the Migration Era and the Viking Age proper. These richly furnished graves belonged to elite warriors and chieftains, whose swords reflected both status and exceptional craftsmanship. The Vendel sword is characterised by its highly ornate hilt construction, often featuring multi-part assemblies, riveted pommels, and decorative inlays that echoed the aesthetic traditions of Germanic and early Scandinavian metalwork.
Part of our premium Primus range, this reproduction captures the elegance of those original swords, finished to produce a subdued silver-like appearance reflecting the historical use of white-metal finishes to emulate more precious materials.
A statement piece for collectors interested in the transition from the Migration Era into the Viking Age.
