Viking Huscarl Sword, Stage Performance Pattern

Huscarls were the sworn household warriors of Norse and Anglo-Saxon lords, the professional core of a war band. This sword takes their plain, practical fighting pattern and builds it for steel-on-steel stage combat.

The edges are thick and blunt for safety and durability, and a wide, long fuller keeps the reinforced blade light in the hand. The steel guard and pommel are secured with a peened tang, and the wooden grip is wrapped in spiralled leather. It comes with a leather-wrapped wooden scabbard with steel fittings and stainless steel hanging rings.

Rated Sport Combat, it is designed for reenactment, stage and film fights. It is not made to be sharpened, and like any combat blade it will show wear with use.
